Centshift – Privacy Policy

Updated: 13 October 2026

This notice covers Centshift on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

1. Provider and Contact

Controller: Andreas Urff / URFFlabs, Danziger Str. 1, 21698 Harsefeld, Germany. For privacy questions, contact us at support@urfflabs.com.

2. Audio Files

Centshift reads only files and folders you select. Analysis, preview and retuning take place on your device. The app does not send your music to Urfflabs. Original files stay unchanged. Temporary previews and export files are removed after their respective operations.

3. Saving and Cloud Folders

You choose the output folder. If you select iCloud Drive or another cloud provider, that provider may synchronise files under its own settings and privacy policy. Centshift does not operate a server for this.

4. Settings

Appearance, language, favourites and filename settings are stored locally on your device. They are not synced between devices.

5. Free exports across devices

Centshift offers five free exports in total per iCloud account. The app stores completed exports, temporarily reserved export slots and random technical export identifiers in your private CloudKit database at Apple. Apple links this area to your iCloud account. Centshift does not store music files, filenames, covers or audio analyses there. URFFlabs does not operate its own counter server and the app does not send URFFlabs a copy of this private iCloud data.

6. Reservations

Before a free export, a slot is reserved in the shared allowance. Cancelled or failed operations return their slot. If the app stops unexpectedly while saving, an export that may already have been saved can remain counted as a precaution. Technical reservations and pending updates are also stored locally and reconciled on the next connection. Free exports used in earlier app versions are included in the first sync. An app-scoped iCloud account identifier is stored locally to detect account changes and associate bookings with the correct account.

7. Sync and availability

Sync runs when you open the app, during use and before free exports. It requires an available iCloud account and an internet connection. Without a successful sync, additional free exports are unavailable; listening and analysis remain available. An already verified unlock allows exports without syncing the counter. To share the allowance between devices, use the same iCloud account on those devices.

8. Purchases

Apple handles purchases, payments and restoration through StoreKit. Centshift uses verified transactions to check the unlock. The app does not send payment details to Urfflabs.

9. Support and Suggestions

The contact feature opens an email draft to support@urfflabs.com. Urfflabs receives your email address and message only when you send it yourself. Music files and diagnostics are not attached automatically. Your information is used to handle your request. Send only information needed for your request.

10. Advertising and Analytics

Centshift contains no advertising, tracking SDKs or usage analytics of its own. Apple and your chosen file or email providers process data under their own privacy policies.

11. Your Requests

For access, correction or deletion of data from your support request, contact support@urfflabs.com. You can remove local app settings and temporary files by deleting app data; you manage saved music files yourself.

12. Email Provider

Our support mailbox is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. This provider technically processes messages for delivery and storage on servers in Germany. Your own email provider is also involved in sending them.

13. Purposes and Legal Bases

Where personal data are involved, processing for requested app and purchase features and contract-related support is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other requests are handled under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is answering your request and resolving reported issues. Retention required by law is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

14. Retention and Deletion

Local settings and technical caches are kept until you remove the app data. The iCloud counter remains after uninstalling the app so that the shared allowance is preserved across devices. Apple’s account tools and privacy information apply to managing iCloud data. Temporary audio files are cleaned up; after an unexpected interruption, remnants are removed at the next app launch. Delete saved exports and backups at their respective locations. Uninstalling does not delete Apple purchase records. Support messages are kept as long as necessary to address and follow up on your request; legal retention requirements and necessary legal claims may require longer storage. They are then deleted.

15. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to the legal conditions, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. You can complain to a data protection authority, particularly where you live or work or where an alleged violation took place. URFFlabs has no remote access to data held only on your device.

16. Voluntary Information

Support messages and sharing saved files are voluntary. Paid features cannot be unlocked or restored without the necessary purchase evidence. Centshift does not use automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects or related profiling. Blanket consent to this notice is not required to use the app.

Apple and external services

Apple’s privacy information and your system settings also apply to iCloud, the App Store, operating-system diagnostics and backups. Apple may process data outside the EU and EEA; its privacy information explains recipients and transfer safeguards. Your chosen file and email services have their own policies.
